David LeClaire is a certified sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers. He created the two popular wine clubs in the Northwest, Seattle Uncorked & Portland Uncorked. Mr. LeClaire served as wine director at Seattle’s prestigious Alexis Hotel (& Painted Table Restaurant) for ten years. David is an instructor at North Seattle College, and serves as judge for various wine competitions, including Ray’s Boathouse “Retrospective” and the annual Seattle Wine Awards. Spain has more vineyard acreage than any other country, and has a long, rich tradition of winemaking. In this course, we'll taste our way through Spanish wine history, regions, grapes, and classic styles. Students must be 21 or older; picture ID required. A $10 materials fee is due to instructor in class. Class meets off campus at The Barrel Thief in Fremont, 3417 Evanston Ave N, #102, Seattle. We suggest that you eat before coming to class.
