Lead Introduction to 3D Modeling & Printing instructor Daniel Walsh is an expert in the field of 3D CAD Design.  A graduate of the University of Washington School of Engineering, he was introduced to 3D printing through an internship offered by intentional3D, and became a passionate advocate for the technology.  Daniel combines his engineering acumen with an innate knowledge of 3D modeling to help create a positive learning environment.

Introduction to 3D Modeling and Printing

Bring your 2D ideas to 3D life in this hands-on class! Navigate a 3D environment using Onshape, a cloud-based CAD technology, and become adept at the four foundational features of sketch-based modeling: extrude, revolve, sweep and loft. Transition from a 2D sketch to a 3D model. Discover how to prepare a cad model file, export and successfully print your 3D object with superior quality. Get the basics to mastering this growing technology that will shape the look of tomorrow. Intermediate computer and Internet browser skills required. Each student is provided a laptop and 3D printer to use in class as well as a workbook.
