Brandon Pomeroy

Assistant Instructor Brandon Pomeroy is a 3D printing specialist, formally trained in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. He has experience with the entire spectrum of the 3D printing tool-chain, from electronics to plastics. Other interests include 3D modeling, virtual reality, and taking things apart.  Brandon’s knowledge of all-things 3D printing gives him a special ability to help keep students relaxed, focused and in full learning mode.

Introduction to 3D Modeling and Printing

Bring your 2D ideas to 3D life in this hands-on class! Navigate a 3D environment using Onshape, a cloud-based CAD technology, and become adept at the four foundational features of sketch-based modeling: extrude, revolve, sweep and loft. Transition from a 2D sketch to a 3D model. Discover how to prepare a cad model file, export and successfully print your 3D object with superior quality. Get the basics to mastering this growing technology that will shape the look of tomorrow. Intermediate computer and Internet browser skills required. Each student is provided a laptop and 3D printer to use in class as well as a workbook.
