Barbara Oakley

Barbara graduated from the University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor’s and Master’s, respectively, in English Language and Literature.  She received her Master’s of Science in Library and Information Studies from the University of Illinois.  And she recently completed the certification program in Project Management from the University of Washington. 

Barbara volunteers her time as a leader and certified project manager with the local non-profit Plus One Foundation.  She uses her 20 years’ experience as a librarian to research and write grants and other funding proposals.  She enjoys organizing fundraisers and works with the board and executive director on strategic planning and building the foundation’s strength and reach in the community.

Intermediate Quilting

Take your quilting prowess to the next level! We’ll complete several projects and learn a variety of new skills to wow your friends and brighten your home. Try your hand at several different appliqué techniques. Create pictures and sharp, perfect points with foundation paper piecing. Both traditional tumbling blocks and modern hexies will be a cinch when you know how to bring three corners together in a Y-seam. Learn to love sewing challenges like circles and curves. All of this and more! Prequisite: Introduction to Quilting or instructor approval. See for supply list. A $15 materials fee is due to the instructor on first day of class.
