Write Your First Book

This course will help both beginning authors and those who need a nudge with a book underway. Rather than focus on how to write a memoir, non-fiction or fiction, the course will incorporate what they all share: a story, storytelling techniques, the importance of re-writing, and what it takes to complete a book. Students will learn how to craft an idea for a book, how to begin writing or continue working on a project, how to plan and structure a story, and other "real world" skills writers use. Taught by New York Times bestselling true crime author and veteran journalist.

It was such a great overview of the writing AND publishing process. Rebecca Morris was unusually available after hours, always offering to read our work, answer questions. Her background in investigative journalism and as a local author was very interesting. The class was a bargain in so many ways. Even at the last class she encouraged us to contact her about our work.
