Intro to Chess: Exercising Your Brain

A healthy lifestyle includes physical and mental fitness. Playing chess stimulates neural growth, memory, concentration, math skills, raises IQ, helps prevent Alzheimer's, and speeds recover from stroke. Students learn to play chess or improve their game. We review chess strategies, tactics, openings, middlegame, endgame, notation, popular variants, and history. Students may bring their own chess sets. See Textbook and Supply List for supply list.
