Continuing Education

American History and Culture through Film

NEW Classes!

Can you really substitute an English textbook with watching movies? The answer is “Yes!” In this integrated skills course, intermediate and advanced English learners will be provided the opportunity to practice a range of language skills: listening and speaking, reading and vocabulary, presentation and writing. Homework assignments will consist of viewing award-winning American documentary or feature films which will be discussed in class. Students will have the opportunity to explore critical thinking skills while being introduced to topics from American culture and history. See for film titles, schedule and viewing options.
